Our Brompton Families Facebook Group is for the families of young patients at Royal Brompton & Harefield hospitals, and the patients themselves if they are over the age of 13 (as per Facebook’s terms of service). It is a place to share relevant information, connect with other parents/carers, and find out about upcoming Brompton Fountain events. It is an active and supportive group who have an unmatched wealth of knowledge and experience: whether you want to hear from others who have been in your situation or share a small success in your/child’s health journey. Sign up to become part of the Brompton Families Online Community.
We run annual large parties for families, filled with amazing food, face-painting, clowns, bouncy castle’s, entertainment, activities, arts and crafts and much more. We also hold regular days out, previous locations include Battersea Zoo and Kidzania. All our events are extremely popular, they’re a fantastic chance for families to meet others who have been through similar experiences. All events are shared on our Brompton Families Facebook Group and sent out in our monthly newsletter.
The Brompton Fountain partners with The MedicAlert Foundation to provide a free 2 year MedicAlert membership and medical ID jewellery for children and young people at Royal Brompton Hospital. As a MedicAlert member, the child’s record will hold information on their conditions, allergies, medications, history, implants and emergency contacts. Every member chooses from over 60 styles of medical ID jewellery, the jewellery will be engraved with the most vital information, along with the 24/7 emergency helpline and the child’s unique membership number. MedicAlert removes the need to carry information with you at all times, provides peace of mind that the members individual needs will be known about when it matters most and that someone will speak for the child if they need it. Sign up for a MedicAlert Medical ID.
We’ve recently launched local support groups, giving parents the chance to meet other parents in their local area, gain support from one another and attend local events. We have launched a group in Southwest London and will be launching more groups in other locations very soon!
We run online psychological support sessions for parents/carers in the community, the sessions are led by the paediatric psychology team and delivered as a course of 4 sessions which focus on exploring techniques to help with emotional wellbeing and coping, as well as a space to connect with other parents/carers and share experiences.
